SunCoast Trucking Compliance Inc. quickly and accurately completes and files your authority & permitting documents and provides follow-up service through to completion.

Most items are electronically filed for speed in getting you what you need, when you need it.

ICC AUTHORITY PACKAGE (Common/Contract or Broker) $500

Interstate authority is required by the FMCSA for any motor vehicle or freight broker operating for hire and transporting freight or passengers across state lines. If you're operating (for-hire) outside the state your business is located then you need ICC/MC Interstate Authority. 

The minimum time necessary to obtain your Motor Carrier Certificate (for Common Carriers); Permit (for Contract Carriers) or License (for Brokers) is 20 days, the average time is 21-24 days from the date of filing, taking into consideration that your liability insurance is obtained and filed timely.   This is a federal wait time limit imposed and there is no service that can get it sooner than 20 days.   For a nominal additional fee of $40, we can get a copy of your authority on the date it is granted eliminating the need to wait an extra week or two for it to be mailed to you.

EXPEDITED CERTIFICATE OF AUTHORITY $40

SunCoast Trucking Compliance Inc. can get a copy of your authority on the date it becomes active.  You must have your operating certificate in your possession to begin operations.  You will also receive a mailed copy from FMCSA approximately 2 weeks after your authority becomes active. 

NEW ENTRANT SAFETY AUDIT INFORMATION

New Interstate carriers will be subject to a safety audit within the first 18 months of beginning operations.

SunCoast Trucking Compliance Inc. offers all of the DOT Compliance services that you will need to be in compliance with the numerous safety requirements of the FMCSA.

New carriers may be well intentioned, yet may make mistakes that could cost thousands of dollars in unnecessary penalties assessed to you by the FMCSA.

SunCoast Trucking Compliance Inc. is on your side and can assist you in setting up and maintaining your Safety & Compliance program from the start; or help you in mending your current program.

DOT # FORM PREP & FILING $25

BOC-3; DESIGNATION OF PROCESS AGENTS $40

  • Process Agents act as representatives to forward legal or court documents in any proceeding that might be brought against your company.
  • Your BOC-3 is filed electronically.
  • BOC-3 is the form used by the FMCSA to list the Process Agents in all applicable states.
  • MC/ICC Interstate Authority applicants are required by the FMCSA to have a BOC-3 with current Process Agents in every state traveling through or conducting business.
  • Without a BOC-3 on file with the FMCSA, a Certificate of Authority will not be issued.
  • A BOC-3 is required after obtaining an MC#. This is an included service in our MC/ICC Authority Package rate. Your filing is done electronically and is in the FMCSA system immediately.

AUTHORITY REINSTATEMENT $150

  • Includes federal reinstatement fee and is filed electronically with FMCSA.
  • If your Authority has been granted but been dismissed, inactivated or revoked, we can "reinstate" the authority for you by applying for a reinstatement.
  • FMCSA accepted reinstatements active typically within 24-48 hours.

IFTA APPLICATION FORM PREP, FILING & DECALS (up to 3)  $75

  • (IFTA) International Fuel Tax Agreement is an agreement between all 48 contiguous states, and 10 Canadian provinces. 
  • Jurisdictions cooperate in the collection and administration of motor fuel taxes. 
  • An IFTA account is set up with the base state, which authorizes travel in all IFTA jurisdictions. 
  • A single quarterly report must be filed with the base state, reporting miles traveled and fuel purchased in each state. 
  • The base state is responsible for dispersing the funds to the other jurisdictions. 
  • Price includes up to three (3) IFTA Decal Sets; Additional Decal Sets are $5 each.

IRP APPLICATION FORM PREP & FILING $75
Expedited walk-through service is available for Florida base state applicants for an additional fee.

The filing fee does not include any registration fees or taxes charged by your base state. Fees vary by state.

  • (IRP) International Registration Plan
  • Cooperative agreement for registering vehicles that travel interstate.
  • Carriers file an application with their base jurisdiction. The base jurisdiction issues registration credentials for each vehicle, and disperses registration fees to the other jurisdictions.
  • IRP vehicle registration is needed if.          
    • You travel in more than one state, and your vehicle weighs more than 26,000 pounds GVW
      OR has three or more axles, regardless of weight
      OR is a power unit and trailer whose combined GVW is in excess of 26,000 pounds.

IFTA & ROAD TAX QUARTERLY REPORTING; Low Flat Rates per month/per vehicle (Fleet Discounts Available)

  • Quarterly reporting for IFTA, New York HUT, Kentucky KYU, New Mexico Weight Distance Tax, Oregon Highway-Use Tax.  All of these services are covered under one monthly fee of $25 per vehicle.  Trip Report Forms Provided.
  • Mail to us the completed trip reports and fuel receipts monthly or more frequently if desired.
  • After completing & filing your forms, the trip reports and fuel receipts will be returned to you in a neat and organized manner.  

NEW YORK HUT $25 FORM PREP & FILING + $15 PER VEHICLE/NY FEE

Beginning July 1, 2007 , a certificate of registration must be obtained for each motor vehicle that is newly registered for the highway use tax. However, carriers may continue to operate motor vehicles with the 19th series permits provided the permit is not suspended, revoked, or in need of correction and was obtained prior to July 2007.

  • (HUT) Highway Use Tax; is a weight-distance tax, based on mileage traveled by motor vehicles on New York State public highways and vehicle weight.
  • NY HUT Certificate of Registration is needed if your vehicle travels through New York and has a gross weight of more than 18,000 pounds.
  • Once a New York HUT Certificate of Registration is issued, quarterly reports must be filed even if there was no travel in our through NY.
  • New York HUT Certificates of Registration are good for 3 years.
  • A Certificate of Registration does not have to be carried in the motor vehicle, but must be kept in the carrier's regular place of business.
  • New York HUT Certificates of Registration are not required for buses.

NEW MEXICO WEIGHT DISTANCE $25 FORM PREP & FILING (includes up to 2 units; additional units $3 each).

  • NM Weight Distance Tax is a weight-distance tax, based on mileage traveled on New Mexico highways.
  • NM Weight Distance Tax ID Permit is needed if your vehicle travels through New Mexico and has a gross weight of more than 26,000 pounds.
  • Once a NM Weight Distance Tax ID Permit is issued, quarterly reports must be filed.
  • The Permit is good for the entire year.
  • Effective 2008, carriers are no longer required to carry the permit in their motor vehicle(s), vehicle inventory is filed and updated electronically.

KENTUCKY - KYU# FORM PREP & FILING $50 (unlimited vehicles)

  • Kentucky Highway Use Tax (KYU) is a weight-distance tax, based on mileage traveled by motor vehicles through Kentucky.
  • KYU permit is needed if your vehicle travels through Kentucky and has a gross weight of 59,999 pounds or more.
  • Once a KYU license is issued, quarterly reports must be filed.
  • Current vehicle inventory must be maintained with Kentucky.

OREGON FORM PREP & FILING $50 + $8 per vehicle

  • Oregons Highway-Use Tax is a weight-distance tax based on the number of miles traveled in Oregon and the weight of the vehicle.
  • Oregon Weight Receipt and Tax Identifier are needed if your vehicle travels through Oregon and has a gross weight of more than 26,000 pounds.
  • Once an Oregon permit has been issued, monthly reports must be filed. After one year, if your account is in good standing, you may apply to report on a quarterly basis.
  • In addition to an ODOT Weight Receipt and Tax Identifier, Oregon requires a bond in the amount of $2,000.
  • Oregon is a Port of Entry State; if you infrequently travel to Oregon it is suggested that you obtain permits as needed.

FEDERAL EMPLOYER IDENTIFICATION NUMBER (EIN/FEI) FORM PREP & FILING $75

Receive your IRS Tax Payer ID Number the same day ordered.

  • Federal Employer Identification Number(EIN) is a number by which the IRS identifies taxpayers.
  • An individual may use his Social Security Number on many tax forms.
  • Anyone who employs others, or is self-employed, is required to have an EIN. 

HEAVY HIGHWAY VEHICLE USE TAX (IRS Form 2290) FORM PREP & FILING $40

We utilize Authorized IRS E-File Services.

  • Heavy Vehicle Use Tax is used to figure and pay the tax due on motor vehicles with a gross weight of 55,000 pounds or more that are designed to carry a load over public highways.
  • When a new truck is purchased, an initial 2290 must be filed by the end of the following month; or prior to obtaining an apportioned tag. Taxes are pro-rated.
  • A 2290 must also be filed if the taxable gross weight of a vehicle increases and the vehicle falls into a new category.
  • Besides the initial filing, an annual filing is required in June of each year for the period of 7/1/(current year) 6/30/(following year).
  • A vehicle with a GVW of 80,000 is approx. $550 per year.

BIENNIAL (every 2 years) MCS-150 FMCSA UPDATE $25
This collection of information is mandatory and is required by 49 CFR Part 385 and authorized by 49 U.S.C. 504 (1982& Supp. III 1985). Current listed information is verified and updated as required including:

  • Address
  • # of Drivers
  • # of Vehicles
  • Annual Miles Driven

UCR (Unified Carrier Registration) $25 Filing Fee + UCR Fees per the structure schedule

We are Authorized E-File Providers.

  • The UCR Agreement will govern the collection and distribution of registration and financial responsibility information and fees paid by for-hire and private motor carriers, brokers, freight forwarders and leasing companies.
  • It will replace the current Single State Registration System (SSRS), a state-administered registration program that ensures all interstate for-hire motor carriers maintain sufficient public liability insurance coverage to operate. The UCR program will lower fees for-hire carriers incur while maintaining revenue streams for participating states by spreading the cost among a broader population of registrations to include private fleets, brokers, freight forwarders and leasing companies.
  • Under the UCR Agreement, the USDOT number will be the sole federal identification number for all motor carriers. UCR will replace SSRS by a SAFETEA-LU mandate.
